Studio Work
Being in the studio is where most work gets done. It is the ultimate place to be alone with all of the collected materials in one space that is big enough to facilitate study. Getting to grips with how the materials work together & what volume they take up is important in this studio work. Visualising how this work will fit in the eventual space is always useful during the making process.
This process has allowed the laying of 103 sandbags on the studio floor, the making of a ratchet strapped form (made from tarp, bags & off cuts) & the printing of the bags with the repeating image of a set of balconies.
The process reveals several elements that create forms that relate to the overall aesthetic of this project. Staying true to the repetition of the image, screen printing as a process mimics this.
