In addition to working on printed bags I am looking to make use of the rest of my unused materials which have been collected & bundled together. This is a first exploration of something in the planning, acting as a maquette for arranging printed tarp in a folded form. This bundle contains,

A Green Printed Tarp with an image of Plymouth Civic Centre

A Large tarp previously used to make Urban Wrappings

A Printed One Ton Rubble Bag

A Scaffold Monarflex off cut

A found Tarp Off Cut

It was tested on the floor & suspended within the studio space. Both offering exciting details in the sculptural form. While suspended the bundle is heavy in the space as it pulls the orange ratchet strap tight. The plastic cinched in at the centre by two straps emphasises the tightness of the bundle showing that it is well bound together. One of the main features on focus with this are the various details in the materials. Each sheet is composed of square mesh within a plastic skin all with various transparencies & one green. There are dirt marks & scars on the surfaces where the material has been stressed during previous use. Then some surfaces have been printed onto with architectural designs that mimic the form of the sheeting. Also exposed are the handles of the rubble bag & the tears & cuts at the edges of some pieces. A tussle of strength & weakness is at play within this small form plus material & place.
