PORTABILITY
The portable nature of my work has been well tested recently as the chance to set the work up in two different spaces has recently arisen.
Firstly I took the work to a studio for a critique where I arrived with a bag of prints, straps & hooks to set up. At this studio there were lots of beams & anchor points for the work to be suspended & strapped to. In just 15 minutes the work was on display in a semi satisfactory way for peer review.
The second opportunity I had to set up my work was for a Postgraduate Research Showcase held at the University. Here I entered an abstract to present work as an exhibition. Using a foyer/vestibule space outside a lecture theatre there was a chance to suspend my prints from a first floor balcony. This required some negotiation with furniture & fixings but ultimately there was a smooth set up.
These two set ups were great for confirming that the suspended kit form I’ve been working towards is successful. They were also a good feedback tool for me.
